Introducing Simon, one of our Active Together Champions!
Simon, Enderby
Over lockdown I took part in couch to 5k. I previously did no exercise and I’ve also completed the Great North Run Solo raising money for the NHS and Loros. I exercise with others virtually as I am part of a WhatsApp group, I am also using Strava and Instagram. During COVID-19 exercise gave me motivation and mental challenges. It motivated me to get up early and run. I previously was not physically active in fact far from it. The need to improve my health was my inspiration. Over the last 3 to 4 years I had put on a lot of weight in fact so much that at 18 stone I stopped weighing myself. I tried couch to 5k many years ago but never finished the programme. I have lost almost 3 stone in weight. I can play football now with my 13-year-old. I have been hill walking without loss of breath. My whole life and health has improved. Also, apparently, I snore less!!
