JUST is fantastic at getting women engaged in local physical activity through the use of rewards and subsidises. This has been found to encourage long term commitment to exercise and also helps women find an activity they love!

JUST Get Involved is a physical activity programme that provides the opportunity for women of all ages and abilities to get involved in a range of physical activity sessions across South Leicestershire. JUST is an eight to twelve week initiative that runs from January to March. The programme provides free and subsidised opportunities for women to access a variety of sport and physical activity sessions that run in the community. The programme has been running in the Blaby District for six years and is centralised around online and social media engagement.

We work in partnership with qualified physical activity instructors and sports clubs to offer a variety of subsidised activities including  Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Badminton, Dodgeball and many more! These activities run across a range of venue across South Leicestershire, meaning there is never a session to far away.


Why take part?

You don’t have to be sporty or even have attended an exercise class before to take part in JUST as the programme is for everyone, of any age and ability. Below are a few of the many benefits of taking part in JUST.

Increased physical activity levels

JUST is the perfect chance for you to take your first steps into being more active in the new year, with our 9 week programme giving you the chance to try out the range of amazing activities on offer. On top of that, research has found that 9 weeks is the average time needed for a habit to be formed, meaning you are more likely to carry on being active after the programme has finished!

You might be wondering what the benefits of increasing your activity levels are, to which the answer is countless. From increased fitness and weight loss, to reduced stress levels and increased social interaction through group exercise, physical activity can benefit everybody.

T-shirt rewards


Alongside getting active and having fun, at JUST we like to reward commitment. In previous years, we have given away T-shirts and other freebies for attending a certain number of sessions- which are tracked using an attendance card. This is to encourage participation week on week and also to reward you for all your hard work!

Variety of Activities

Last year, we had over 100 activities on the JUST programme! Activities ranged from fitness classes such as Combat and Zumba to sports sessions like Tennis and Rugby. This means that their is a session for everyone to try and hopefully fall in love with.

Subsidised Activity

If you are new to physical activity classes, we offer subsidised rates for the duration of the JUST programme. This allows you to try out lots of different activities at a reduced rate, meaning you are not only more likely to find an activity you like,  but the financial burden of paying for exercise classes is also reduced!

The programme has been designed specifically for women in the South Leicestershire area, including Blaby and Harborough district. To be eligible to join the programme, you must be female, aged 16+ and ideally reside in South Leicestershire.
